Sanjay is a former IAS officer (1979–2007) and corporate leader (2008–21) with over four decades of experience across government and the private sector. He held senior leadership roles in sectors such as health, education, nutrition, and agriculture, including in the Prime Minister’s Office and as Secretary Health and Secretary School Education, Karnataka.

 

He later headed a leading agri-business company and currently serves as Independent Director at DigiGrain Solutions, trustee at KHPT and the WFP Trust of India, and member of the Education Commission, Government of Karnataka. He also chaired the Government of India Task Force on Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE). A postgraduate in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, he is an author and development policy analyst with published work on key social sector issues.
