As a logical step ahead Mobile Creches does its best to enroll youngsters into school. Parents are given as much support as possible to secure admission and continue sending their children to formal schools. We give monetary aid to students through our scholarship programme and continue to counsel our children through the adolescent years. Each Centre "didi" lends a helping hand through ups and downs - emotional, academic or otherwise.

"I ran away from my uncle's house to the city. Prema didi at Mobile Creches got me admitted to the 3rd standard in school, one class lower. The boys were big bullies in the beginning, but it's okay now. I keep very busy - school, coaching class, cooking for the house and studying at night. I do get tired but I won't give up my studies."

• In 2007-8 Mobile Creches placed 210 children in schools in Delhi and gave scholarships to 240 children. Mainstreaming children into government schools and making the schools work is the long-term solution. Looking after siblings at home or selling chai at a tea-shop deprives the child of schooling today and better earning opportunities tomorrow.
